La Casa Francesa is situated on the edge of the historic Alpujarran village of Valor.
Las Alpujarras are a string of ´pueblos blancos´nestled between the snow-capped mountains of the Sierra Nevada National Park and the Mediterranean. All the villages retain their rural history and you will definitely see many of the local Valoreños using donkeys as transport to their land.
Valor is a typical, picturesque Spanish village with a couple of shops, a bank and pharmacy; the local bakery makes fresh bread every day and the Valor olive oil and cheese are superb.
With 8 bars, 9 in summer, and several restaurants offering local specialities such as partridge, kid, black pudding and jamon, you will not go hungry or thirsty. The bars offer free tapas with beer and wine so you can sample a variety over a lunchtime stroll around the village; no need to cook.
